.. how the story goes ..

Rez day at Pangloss

Yesterday, September 27th, was the sixth anniversary of the day that I made my account in Second Life.  At that time, I never imagined that I’d still be spending time in Second Life six years later!  But yet, here I am and yes, I’m still logging in nearly daily.  So much has changed over the years.  I have worked as a host in clubs, worked for an events group, worked for estates, taken pics, displayed pics in exhibitions, and have supported Relay For Life of Second Life over the past 6 years.  I have made some great friends, have lost some both due to differing interests as well as quite a few that have given upon SL or maybe reinvented themselves.  I have alts, including a male and a child.  But I play Sunshine the most and she is, well she is me.  During a long SL partnership, I learned a lot about creating spaces… landscaping, terraforming, putting scenes together as living and natural spaces.  And while we are no longer partnered, we are still good friends, and I enjoy seeing the creations he comes up with or that he helps with.  We still share the “have you seen this sim or that” conversations too.

That is how I found Pangloss – a surreal concept sim put together by Bowie Zeplin.   This sim draws you in and makes you want to see all that could be there.  Flying pink fish, a huge whale breaching up to the clouds, and turtles floating in the sky… all just parts of an amazing creation.  Pangloss causes you to wonder just what could be going on in the mind of the creator, but you enjoy the colorful surroundings enough to not worry what brought these dream-like scenes together.

When you visit Pangloss, be sure to turn on your music stream and enjoy the ethereal music while exploring.  It definitely adds to the ambiance and folds you into the surrealism.

And as for me… Second Life is ever-changing.  I do have a goal to learn to create “something” more than pics and words, but if that doesn’t happen, I do hope to meet new friends and enjoy the creativity of others.  Thank you to all those that do design and create so that my virtual world does have beauty and art.
