Sometimes you find a great outfit in Second Life that you just want to talk about.   I found the “Shirley” dress by !gO! at the Shiny Shabby round that opened today.  I generally love Gocha Merlin’s creations and this dress is no exception. It has an 1920’s vibe and the fit for my Maitreya body worked perfectly.  The texture is great and the bow is just perfect.

I decided it would be a great item to blog so I had to think of a good location.  I remembered that I had recently seen  that Jogi Schultz of Schultz Bros. had been building a early 20th century New York City for roleplay – and off I headed to the 1920’s New York Project.  Based upon the website, I knew that the project had recently been moved over to a full sim so I wanted to check it out.  The build is looking great even though it is still ‘in progress’.  It is definitely a scene that lends to an active role play story and adventure.

Initially you land in a train or subway station which looks great and provides the necessary information. As you ascent up the stairs, you will see a ticket booth attendant patiently ready to serve.  You then have the choice to teleport down to the project.  The build has an elevated railway, some great shops that are perfect for the era, a night club, coffee houses, cafes and a ballroom.  There is a waterfront with a park where you can just relax and visit with a passerby.  The textures are realistic and the architecture is quite true to life as well.

Kraftwork has created this beautiful Victorian Theater for The Draftsman event that opens tomorrow (January 20th) and runs until March 17.  The event is a bi-monthly event focused on architecture and home decor.  The theme for this round is Victorian and Kraftwork’s Theater definitely fits the bill.

The detail of the structure and curtain is perfect and the backdrops fit the era so well.  The stage is loaded with multiple poses – puppet and drama style.  The 3 puppet poses allow for a maximum of 3 avatars and are adjustable so that the puppet strings can be aligned.  The 5 drama poses are unique and will allow a maximum of two avatars at once. These were created by Misty of Kiss Me Pose specifically for the Victorian Theater.

This is a beautiful piece for pose prop and pics, but could also be fit into a themed or eclectic build.

I had the opportunity to visit the Shiny Shabby event yesterday and I nearly bought one of everything!  I had fun meandering around the streets of the event, poking my head in to see what the creators have designed specifically for the February round. Shiny Shabby is described as “a flea market for new and weathered things”.  Those that love vintage and antique items in Second Life will be over the moon this round. So many things to choose from. But if you enjoy a more modern style, don’t despair.. there is plenty for you too!  The event opens in grand style at noon SLT today (February 20th). Take the time to visit this cool new event.
