I want my home to be that kind of place–
a place of sustenance, a place of invitation, a place of welcome.
~ Mary DeMuth
It has been a while since I’ve had a home to call mine in Second Life. I designed my region and there are spaces that are homelike but it is open to the public so it isn’t really “my space”. When NODNOL Jameson shared her creation for the semi-annual 6° Republic event that opens on November 4th, I opened it with great interest. I have really been enjoying so many of the items that NOD has created for KraftWork and was ready to see another very cool build. I wasn’t disappointed… the Le Plateau Loft is no exception.
I was actually inspired to try something that I’ve not done before – a video blog or er.. vlog. The last time I edited any video was years ago so it took me some time to get this together and while not awesome, I’m happy that I got it finished and I’m actually even happy with it. I learned a few things and I think I’ll be better prepared next time!
As you can see from the video, the Le Plateau Loft from KraftWork is awesome! The textures are spot-on and the amazing clerestory style windows are so inviting! I stood inside and imagined the warm and cozy atmosphere that could be created here and then I got to work. As I set up my new home in the sky, I focused on an autumn theme in much of my decor. Using various items from so many different creators, I was able to create a space that I feel might just be inviting.
The skybox is a build within a box so when you peer through the windows, you see a residential street scene out of one and a wooded area from the other. There is a window seat that includes single/couple animations, a built-in book shelf, a cool fireplace (fire is included separately) and a great loft area as well. The build feels spacious and is scaled very realistically. Since we are talking about a loft, NOD didn’t skimp on metal, wood and brick. She threw in the exposed duct work as well as great skylights to let more light inside. And this Loft is set up to carry you year-round as NOD includes a HUD which allows you to select sunny or snowy scenes from the windows:
The 6° Republic event opens on November 6th. This event is a decor and landscaping event that runs in May and November annually. It started in 2015 and is widely anticipated. The designers create some of the most innovative items for this event, so be prepared to be wow’d by not only this amazing Le Plateau Loft from KraftWork, but by all the other creations too!
