The Arcade 3 022713

March 1, 2013, welcomes the third session for The Arcade Gacha Event.  Are you ready?  The masses are counting down the hours and minutes as the creators have been marketing their offerings across Flickr, blogs, and websites for a few days.  You can take a look at all the goodies to be had on The Arcade Shopping Guide.  I think the build is spectacular and love the carousel out front as well.  Be sure to check out The Arcade souvenirs out front too.

The doors will open to the public on March 1.  Don’t be surprised to find that the sim will fill up quickly at first, and it will indeed stay busy over the first days.  But patience and perseverance pay off in these circumstances.  Make sure your wallet is stuffed with linden dollars and head on in… you will find yourself once again hooked on trying to get “just the right one” from each gacha machine!  Be friendly, and have fun!

…Gotta find me a future move out of my way,
I want it all, I want it all, I want it all, and I want it now,
I want it all, I want it all, I want it all, and I want it now…

MOS Sim 7

I was exploring the LEA sims again, and stumbled upon the LEA20 sim where I found Chic Aeon’s Machinima Open Studio (MOS) Project.  This Linden Endowment of the Arts – Artist in Residence sim was put together for those machinima creators that are looking for various backdrops for their videos. It is also a place to praise machinima created in Second Life.  The options for scenes on this sim are wide ranged.  From a rural valley scene and beachy style homes on a shore on the ground level to a city office scene, a New Orleans home, a gypsy camp, a home on a midnight beach, a subway street, and a host of studio settings with several different rooms set up at various levels in the sky, all are ready and waiting for the cameras to be pulled out and filming to begin.

But… it is also great that the MOS Project sim also welcomes avatars taking static pics as well.  The fact that the sim is set for rez with a 20 minute return setting is very helpful for those that want to drop a pose stand and take a pic in a living room, a kitchen, a bedroom,  a burlesque stage or in any of the other scenes available. The project is really a great idea, and one that provides some great options for backdrops for blog pics, fashion pics, or just wanting to have a certain type of scene.

Visit the LEA20 sim and explore the Machinima Open Studio Project soon.  Be sure to accept the teleport HUD which will be offered when you land.  This HUD will allow you to jump from scene to scene much more easily so you don’t have to go back to the entry.  For more pics, please visit the MOS Project blog as I am sure that if there are changes or additions, Chic will update there.

A friend dropped a landmark on me the other night so I decided to check it out.  The landmark indicated it was an exhibit at The Guild of “Lys Noir”.  When I arrived, I landed in a reception area and found the entry to an exhibit of fractals by Gem Priez in cooperation with LS Inc and “The GLN.  In the reception area, the explanation of the exhibit is shown on the walls ..  it is all about the temples of man.  The curator and exhibition builder, Lady Lys, graciously greeted me and ensured that I knew how to proceed through the build…”Follow the blue line”.  As you proceed through the build, you follow the blue line so that the entries between the exhibition rooms will open.

As you proceed from one area to the next, you are greeted with a huge display of the wonderful fractal art by Gem Priez depicting interpretations of the temples of man.  The colors are so vivid and the blasts of lighting within the fractal really show well in this setting.  Lady Lys has built a perfect setting to show these awesome pieces of art. All of the art is available for purchase as you walk through or at the end in final room where you can also easily leave a comment in one of the guest book kiosks.

The exhibit is scheduled until February 28th, so please check it out and support a Second Life artist and creator.
