Salt Water 3

Do you like a quiet, deserted beach for reflection, some surfing, maybe some conversation with a friend?  Let me tell you about the newest one that I have found.  Okay, I really didn’t just find it… I watched it being created from flat sim surface to this great, remote style beach.  It is similar to the coastline of the Baja Peninsula and the creator has tagged the sim as “Baja Norte“.

Jac Mornington really strives to make a natural environment and Baja Norte is no exception.  The beach is very multi-dimensional with the feeling of a windblown dunes with turtles coming up on the beach to nest as the waves lap against the shore.  Jac has put in a boardwalk to allow access across the water to an out island with a look out area that is perfect for relaxation.

In the center of the beach, up on the rise, there is a beach shack offering a respite from the sun and heat.  And just over the rise, you will find a fishing dock fully outfitted with a fishing boat or sailboat that you can jump in and take for a ride around the sim.  It is a tight fit but you can fully glide across the water in either boat along the edges.  Just watch out for the Maoli mesh surf waves that are rolling in.  Jac has placed two different types of surf waves out. A fun low rumbling wave that is fairly realistic for many real life surf beaches, and a larger wave that crashes in as well.  This adds to the natural environment as most surf breaks would have varying types of waves to experience.

While on Baja Norte, you will share the environment with a seal colony out by the lighthouse.  Be sure to look out beyond the surf for the whales breaching and cavorting, it is very relaxing to watch the magnificent creatures roll through the water.  The sounds of nature will surround you so be sure to have sounds on as well… and just enjoy your visit.

Jac has done it again with this sim; it is a beautiful spot for capturing pics, surfing, boating, and just relaxing.  Visit Baja Norte soon, as we never know how long this beautiful sim will be around.

MOS Sim 7

I was exploring the LEA sims again, and stumbled upon the LEA20 sim where I found Chic Aeon’s Machinima Open Studio (MOS) Project.  This Linden Endowment of the Arts – Artist in Residence sim was put together for those machinima creators that are looking for various backdrops for their videos. It is also a place to praise machinima created in Second Life.  The options for scenes on this sim are wide ranged.  From a rural valley scene and beachy style homes on a shore on the ground level to a city office scene, a New Orleans home, a gypsy camp, a home on a midnight beach, a subway street, and a host of studio settings with several different rooms set up at various levels in the sky, all are ready and waiting for the cameras to be pulled out and filming to begin.

But… it is also great that the MOS Project sim also welcomes avatars taking static pics as well.  The fact that the sim is set for rez with a 20 minute return setting is very helpful for those that want to drop a pose stand and take a pic in a living room, a kitchen, a bedroom,  a burlesque stage or in any of the other scenes available. The project is really a great idea, and one that provides some great options for backdrops for blog pics, fashion pics, or just wanting to have a certain type of scene.

Visit the LEA20 sim and explore the Machinima Open Studio Project soon.  Be sure to accept the teleport HUD which will be offered when you land.  This HUD will allow you to jump from scene to scene much more easily so you don’t have to go back to the entry.  For more pics, please visit the MOS Project blog as I am sure that if there are changes or additions, Chic will update there.

Worlds End Garden 7
Have you ever visited the World’s End Garden sim?  You land in a flower filled space where you find a carousel slowly bobbling as it turns.  Once you see the bubbles and maybe hear the sounds, you realize you are under water and must find your way out.  Take a moment first to absorb the surroundings and head up the steps to find the “door” which will allow you to teleport to the surface.

Worlds End Garden 1

You arrive on a tiny little island facing a beautiful glass building across the water with the snow falling softly around you.  Proceed across the water and open the giant door to enter the ballroom type building.  You will find the floor filled with flowers and a tree growing in the center.  A crystal piano sits in the expansive space and there is a beautiful draped sitting area too.  Upon the tree rests a little butterfly, click for dance balls if you are exploring with a friend… and take a moment to twirl through the flowers.

After you have left the glass atrium style ballroom, take a look around the sim.  In the northeast corner, the ruins of a church sits within the trees, explore the build and find the door with a portal to another scene above the sim… a very intriguing altar scene set within a tree.

Returning through the portal in the sky, look toward the northwest corner of the sim and explore the gothic ruins, again, looking for a door to teleport to another scene in the sky.  This time you find a tree with birdcages that is lovely scene as well.

Worlds End Garden 5

Descend back to the ground and head across the water to the south side of the sim where you will find the World’s End Garden shop.  In this dilapidated build, Lucia Genesis has gathered a few of her items in vendors including some clothes, furniture, and decor.  Additionally, you can join the group… Lucia always has some nice group gifts as well.  And keep in mind, that as you have traveled throughout the sim, many of the items that you have come across were also for sale.  World’d End Garden is a great sim to spend some time exploring the scenes, shopping, taking pics and maybe even dancing.   If you visit, be sure to have your sounds turned on, and be ready to play with wind light settings to help experience the various scenes in many different ways.
