Lemondrop’s Forest

Recently I visited a sim full of whimsy.  Lemondrop’s Forest is a happy, colorful sim that brings so many fun, silly elements in to play.  When you land in the garden, you have the option of a Tour Buggy ride or perhaps, hop in a Gondola and guide yourself.  You can also walk and run around  as well.

Lemondrop’s Forest, created by Lemondrop Serendipity and Photon Pink, is built inside a tree which is over 300 meters high and along the root base.  As you tour around, you will find the port city of Lemonville, where you might catch a cartoon or two in Le Cinema Lemonville.  You might wonder what was used as textures for many of the buildings in Lemonville…well, if you look closely, you’ll see that they are candy wrappers.  While I was on the tour, I found out that these are from Russia and had been collected by Lemondrop and Photon (after they ate the candy, of course!).  The nightclub in Lemonville, Le Citron Bleu, is currently hosting an exhibit of the entire collection of the candy wrappers.

Continue your exploration of the sim and find the Fairy Airport Enternational, better known as FAE.  If you prefer air  transportation, you can grab a fairynaut glider and tour the island from above.  There are many other nooks and crannies on this sim…tunnels and pathways leading from one place to another.  You can fish here with 7Seas, do a little shopping at the Photon Island Trading Company and just hang out and watch the whales, sharks and boats…   Lemondrop’s Forest is a happy place – colorful, silly, and fun.  It can bring out the kid in you… if you just let it!

Until next time…explore, explore and let your imaginations soar once more!

POPArt!

Experiencing the amazingly creative environments in Second Life can be very inspiring at times.  Some builds last for months and years, while others are merely built for a single event and are gone in a short time.  These short-lived creations are sometimes the most amazing and make you wonder how much time and energy the creator expended to put them together.  These “artists” do this for many reasons…to highlight other products (such as for a fashion show); for a holiday event; for a social get-together; or maybe just to celebrate a special happening.  Whatever the reason, the residents of Second Life benefit from the creativity and “eye-candy” that these builds offer.

Maddox DuPont, the owner of MADesigns, MAD Agency and KMADD, created a fantastic set for Modavia Productions” POPArt 2010 event and opened the KMadd Event sim for one last look the other day.  This POPArt 2010 event was a collaboration of Modavia Productions, Modern Gypsy and MAD Agency and showcased fashion inspired by the POPArt movement of the late ’50s and early ’60s.  While I did not make it to the show, I heard that it was fantastic and very well presented (and attended).  The set is truly eye-catching and the fashions would have “POPPED” off the runway… the stark colors and fun whimsical environment just added to the atmosphere.   Maddox, the set creator extraordinaire himself, published a machinima piece capturing highlights of the show, be sure to check it out!

Second Life is definitely a place where our creative forces can smash together in collaborative nature.  So many places to see and experience that allow our imaginations to be fed… and for fantasies to form.   Thank you Maddox for opening this set (as you often do) to allow us to capture our own interpretations…

Explore, explore, explore… find your imagination and soar!

2011 – The Year I Blog More Frequently…

…or maybe at least more consistently.  My plan is to post at least one blog a week for all of 2011!

I am going to put the worry that a great photo is necessary behind me, because often, I just don’t get a photo edited to my liking in order to finish my post.  I blog about my life in Second Life, a virtual world.  There are sooo many bloggers from Second Life and I am just one.  I don’t have many followers, but I’m not going to let that stop me this year!   I enjoy blogging and want to do more of it… so here we go!  My true goal is to goal more than once per week, but my reality is that once a week will be a good start.

It won’t always be easy for me and I might fail to meet my goal every week, but I won’t let that stop me from trying!  I will attempt to use  The DailyPost for inspiration at times… even if just for encouragement.

If you already read my blog, I hope you’ll encourage me with comments and likes, and good will along the way.

Let’s get to the blogging!   And oh yeah…Happy New Year!!!
