Rain 2304

Have you ever wanted to find a sim where the rain falls hard and steady?  A place that might not make sense, but then it must make sense to its creator?  The “2304 Rain” build on the Sankt Moritz sim is one of those places.  The rain pours over the entire surface of the sim.  The only place to get away from it is in side a few of the objects strewn across the sim – either inside a culvert, the entry house, or maybe a couple of other places.  Additionally, you can climb the spiral staircase to a platform high above the sim surface, up above the rain, and have a view of everything.  Squonk Levenque has created this interesting place that provides the rain, the interest, and the thoughtful placement of interesting objects sized both normally and largely, to make you feel at times quite tiny and normal all the same.  Be aware that the rain might cause your viewer fps to drop, especially if you are on ultra and you turn on shadows, but there are areas where you will have some solace from that viewer side lag, and can still snap pics and enjoy the surroundings.  If you are just exploring, there are really no reasons to turn on your shadows.

I want to darken in the skies
“Open the floodgates up
I want to change my mind
I want to be enough
I want the water in my eyes
I want to cry until the end of time

I want to let the rain come down
Make a brand new ground
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down
Make a brand new ground
Let the rain come down tonight”

Follow the windlight setting that Squonk has set as default which is  Windlight Sky: “[AnaLu] outdoor city weirdlights” and Water: “Glassy”.  But then play a little with other options and see what you can come up with.  It is always fun to ‘paint the sky’ in your own way.  Just get on over to “2304 Rain” and be sure to grab an umbrella while you are there!

So I was sitting here perusing the Second Life Destination Guide looking at the editor’s picks and I happened on an interesting looking place called “X-Zone“.  The description that the creator has posted indicates that this is an immersive island that was influenced by Final Fantasy X and the creator’s own imagination.  You will find steampunk type builds, romantic areas, and a fantasical assortment of creations.  Lady Bird (Rikku Yalin) has done a wonderful job bringing these things together providing Second Life residents the opportunity to explore the sim … and even stay a while for a dance or on a beach or around a fire.  The sim is fascinating and truly beckons to be explored.

Bug 3

I recently saw a post by a Flickr contact that showed this very cool contraption in Second Life and luckily, they included the SLURL.  I headed over to check it out and snap a couple of pics.  What I found when I landed within what appeared to be a mine shaft was the contraption framed in the distance.  I headed out to check it out and grab the pics.  It is really a cool creation.. .the wings nearly glisten in certain light.

I decided I should see what was through the door that was behind me in the mine shaft. After finding my way back in to the shaft (look for the rocks on the ground), I proceeded through the door and found :=-momomuller / 3M-=: a men’s pose main shop . The info indicates that it is mostly for people that like to take photos.  While it says that it is a men’s pose shop, it looks like they have added some unisex poses as well. The creator, momomura Zehetbauer, has creatied poses for sports, for zombie pics, for fashion, for action, and for cute and serious scenes. I like the fact that most of the demo pose stands had less than 20 poses which means you can move through the options fairly quickly.  Also looks like he has posted pics of all of his poses which is great too!

Add this shop in your pose search.. and see if you can find something you can use!  And enjoy the really cool contraption just outside the mine shaft while there.
